The Frederick Flair

This is what I went to see Saturday…my friend MaryEllen competed in the 2007 U.S. Eastern Sectional Synchronized Team Skating Championships; this is her team in action! The youngest is in her 30s, the oldest is 70! They’re AWESOME! I had the honor of being the team photographer and chaperone this time, which basically meant I got in free LOL!
MaryEllen and I also got to spend part of the weekend with Deb & Laura! Thanks for sharing the teriyaki steak with me, Laura, damn that was good! Oh…and the purse that Deb goes on and on (and on and on) about? Is soooooo pretty. She wouldn’t let me photograph her with it, tho, because she was afraid it would outshine her
Muaaaaaaaaaaaah girls!
One last thing…do NOT E.V.E.R. stay in the Mystic CT Best Western…it has uncomfortable beds, lots of drunks roaming the hallways and making lots of noise … and ghosts…who aren’t friendly. And I’m serious. *shudder*
How was your weekend?

That’s really cool that she does that, it looks like so much fun!!
Ghosts? Sounds like a crazy time at the hotel.
My weekend wasn’t too exciting, played some Wii and studied for exam 2morrow.

That’s so neat!
My weekend was the usual. Puppies, puppies, puppies!

looks like a tough group to chaperone, hope they didn’t run you too ragged
unfriendly ghosts? do tell….

How cool! Sounds like an excellent weekend, outside of the unfriendly ghosts. There’s nothing worse than staying at a place with a bad feeling like that.
My weekend was great, fun and relaxing- just as a weekend should be (but isn’t always!)

sounds like fun!
oh, and as a rule, i stay away from Best Westerns – bad experiences in NC and CT.
=)

Come clean – you were the drunks roaming the halls, right?
I had no idea there was such a thing as synchronized team skating. You really do learn something new every day!

wow, that’d be fun to watch. I chaperoned 30 girls middle school girls the weekend before last for a color guard competition. This weekend, I was happy to stay home! Since you were a chaperone, were those 70 year olds behaving??

We loved having a chaperone with a bag full of Yueng Ling and sex toys!

Wow! How much fun that would have been to see! I love ice-skating
I want to see the purse!!!!!!!

Well, there weren’t any ghosts involved (thank goodness) but there was some mad scrapbooking!

Synchronised skating? We don’t have that here – but then, skating generally is not a big thing. I’ve just come back from a week teaching at the National Quilting Symposium here in NZ, so I’m leaking creativity!

That looks so fun! Hope they did well.

I have great respect for anyone who can synchro-skate. I can barely even stand UP in skates!
The hotel sounds unpleasant. Do share your ghost stories though, if you have any you’re comfortable sharing.

We had an awsome time – even if we were the drunks with sex toys pretending to be ghosts! Love you!

Hey! That was US roaming the halls!
January 29th, 2007 at 9:51 pm
That must have been cool to watch!

How fun! A bunch of friends all went out on Saturday. Then Sunday was errands followed by staying over at my sweetie’s house.
