Labor Day weekend
We had a wonderful weekend! Friday night we headed to the beach for some full moon viewing and pizza. Unfortunately it took a good 40 minutes for the pizza, so we missed the moonrise. Dave did take a cool shot of me on the beach, though!

Saturday, Dave picked up Ralphy and we headed to my friend Aislinn’s for a fun day. Ralphy rode in two battery powered cars most of the day…he didn’t even want to swim!

After our lunch of lobsters and potatoes, we walked down to the beach having heard of a shark sighting, but we didn’t see one. Three towns away, however, a dead great white shark washed up on the beach! Yikes!!! You can read about it here. The authorities aren’t sure what the cause of death was.
Sunday we headed up to the White Mountains and checked out the Lancaster Fair. Beautiful draft horses, delicious apple crisp and some decent BBQ!

Monday, we took it easy and stayed close to home. Had a nice walk at Great Brook Park; in the cool woods on a sunny day is heavenly. When I first got Max, I used to take him here all the time and so, while there, I felt I was finally ready to scatter his ashes. I did so by the pond, on his favorite trail, on the stump where he loved to poop (what! he did!) and finally by his favorite place to leap.

Godspeed, my Maxie!
When I got home, I decided to take pictures of some of Dave’s artwork. Here’s one:

What a cool talent to have to be able to sketch like that.

Lobster… *sigh* Do you realize how very lucky you are? I hope you do.
And I tried to say it on facebook, but probably failed: your description of where you scattered Max’s ashes and that photo… Poignant. Exquisitely painful and joyful at the same time. ♥

Awwww, Max. I’m glad you picked such a special spot.
Glad you had a great weekend. I was gearing up for going back to work (sigh).
