I once called it a Nunnery; Dave laughed!
I haven’t participated in Carmi’s Thematic Photographic prompts in a looooong time, but this one hit home! This week, his prompt is “Pics taken with a smartphone”. Lord, I don’t know when last I used any of my cameras! My favorite go-to one, the Sony DSC F-717 is on the fritz, as is the 50mm lens for my Canon and the other lenses I have…eh. Too much. I love the easy accessibility of my iPhone! So here are two I snapped last weekend.

Bachand Hall Convent in Lowell, MA. Took this one from my car, I was at a stop sign, waiting to take a left

I call this one “Oh boy!” As you can tell, this was a low light situation. Still, his expression is priceless and the dog waiting patiently in the background…LOL! As an aside, yikes, my place looks messy and really, Janet? Snowy pine trees? *eye roll*
Thanks, Carmi! Great prompt!

Beautiful building. I grew up in Lexington, just around the corner. Been a few years since I was back there, thanks for the picture.

Do you have the Snapseed app? Amazing editing right on your phone–you could crop those snowy pines right out.

What an absolute cool photo! My uncle lived in Lowell, Ma. (was married there too) lovely building you picked to post!

Looks as if a storm is brewing in the first pic; you have certainly caught the atmosphere.

I like your snowy pines. What?
What a happy little dude.

These rock, Janet, and I’m so glad you chimed in on this one: I’ve missed your perspectives!
The first one is such a striking composition. The building would be perfect on its own, but the wires just push it over the top. Divine. And little man? If this picture could sing on its own, I’m sure it would. A perfect moment-in-the-life shot if ever there was one.
I suspect I’m wearing my DSLR into the ground…I may need to camp out on my smartphone and iPad before too long. Dreading it, but it isn’t the tool that matters. It’s the person holding it. And once again, you’ve shown you can out-shoot anyone no matter what you have in your hands.

Love your ‘Nunnery’, I assume it goes hand-in-hand with a ‘Monkery’. Works for me anyway
There is nothing wrong with a few snow covered pines in the heat of summer either. Great shots.

What? Nunnery isn’t a word?
Your place looks lived in by loving, busy people. Nothing wrong with that! (Snowy pines sound kind of nice right now.)
