a trip to DC
Awhile back, on sniqueaway.com, I got a great deal for a hotel Washington, DC. In the Capitol Hill area. Within walking distance of all the museums. On the cheap. A nice getaway for us, I thought.
Yeah.
Well, you know what? We took Dave’s 14 year old grandson with it, and it was a GREAT getaway! We walked and walked and walked and walked (I had blisters on my blisters). The grandson and I rented bikes and rode around for a couple hours. We introduced him to Popeye’s fried chicken. I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival and parade, while the boys went to Ford Theater and a couple of the museums. We had amazing meals…shrimp and grits for me both nights LOL
My only disappointment was that the Julia Child exhibit was closed! That was one of the reasons I wanted to go. But…still…had a lot of fun!

yeah, sorry, I’m 12, this made me laugh!

lovely xxdirty martini I had at the restaurant in the hotel…delish!

Ford Theater…anyone know what happened there?

I was OH SO PSYCHED to spy this place on the walk to the Japanese festival…it was my favorite little bakery in Paris!

Okonamiyaki!!! One of my favorite Japanese treats!

Korean war memorial. This was my first time seeing it…breathtaking!

So glad to finally see the pictures from your trip. I just wish you had gone when I still lived back there…
Sorry about the JC exhibit. When my BFF came out to see me, JC was high on her list (she was happy to be there) but the reflecting pool was drained for cleaning and repair! It’s always something…
Should I confess now that I never saw the Ford Theater?

Why was the exhibit closed? I loved that… Love DC. We’re looking to move into the area next year.

Love the photos of the Washington Monument, the Capital, and the Korean War Memorial. I can’t wait to get back to DC someday, as an adult who has a better appreciation for what I’m seeing.
