Common Miracles

Come play along at The Common Miracles Project!
Miracle #1: Saw the new Pirates movie Friday night…and fell asleep. Not exactly an earth shattering miracle, or even a very good one, but a definite strange one, since I’ve never fallen asleep at a Johnny Depp movie before!
Miracle #2: Down 1.4 pounds at WW, bringing the total lost to 6.8. They say the ideal is 1 to 2 pounds a week, so I’m right on track with that. Woohoo! Also, the world didn’t end, and that was good

see the shape in the picture?
Miracle #3: Rain followed us everywhere we went Saturday, but we managed to out fox it til we got home. Had an ok meal at the Portsmouth Brewery and a great time just riding around. Did the same thing Sunday, but I was a more contemplative mood and so more quiet. Generally, when i’m quiet, Dave thinks I’m mad. We drove past his brother’s old home in Mason, NH and went to Pickity Place, too. It’s the site of the home where Little Red Riding Hood was written; now it’s a restaurant/gift shop/herb garden and just gorgeous!

I’ve been feeling that sort of quiet and contemplative mood thing too. Today I just am trying to catch my breath because the headache is still hanging out with me. Perhaps on these grey days we just want to curl up and go to sleep.

I also feel asleep at the new pirates. We saw it at the drive-in, so I was in the car. I was not surprised that this happened. But, on a good note, I saw Pirates, so now Jason has to see Bridesmaids!

Way to go on the weight loss! I’ll bet you look fantastic.
I agree about the Brewery. The beer’s good but the food really isn’t anything to write home about.

Whoa – that sky is ominous!
Congrats with the WW! I always look forward to the weigh-in day when I’m feeling good.
Thanks for the comment at my blog. Red satin heart, huh? Too funny!

That’s not a good plug for Pirates–I’ve been hearing they should have stopped before this one.

I see the dark clouds pressing down on a heart. I hope that’s not how you were feeling!

I see a heart on the left and an owl in flight on the right. I guess I will wait for the Pirates until it is on the movie channel then – nothing to do with the fact I can’t afford $20 to see a movie

I saw Pirates, too! I wound up taking off my 3-d glasses for most of the film because it was so dark I was dozing off- much better without the glasses. Congrats on the weight loss!!
Pickity Place sounds lovely- I love stuff like that. Nourishes the soul!

It is fun to outsmart the weather. The end of April we were in Calgary for a few days and it wanted to snow!!! So we headed south to Head Smashed-In Buffalo Jump for the day and avoided the storm. By the time we returned to Calgary that evening the clouds had moved thru.
If you ever get to Alberta don’t miss going to Head Smashed-In. It is a UNESCO Heritage Site. We love it there… and I did a recent blog post of it early in May.

i’m loving the hearts in nature….i look at finding them as little gifts from the gods and goddesses that watch over us.
after reading that michelle saw the movie at the drive in, i’ve been swamped with nostalgic memories….such fun at the drive-in….didn’t realize there were any around anymore!!!

Not a Pirates/Depp fan, so I can see sleeping through that… (can we still be friends?!). I too am glad the world didn’t end, but technically all the “righteous” were supposed to disappear and the world ends in October… now the nutty minister has amended his theology so that the October event is still on. Ha. Whatever.
Always good to keep the guys guessing what’s going on in those contemplative brains, I say. We’re a mystery, and it’s a good thing! Hee hee.
Thrilled for you with the WW. I know what work that is, feeling like I need to get moving a bit more myself!

Congrats on your progress towards your health goals, that is great!
I’ve heard nothing but bad or “meh” things about the latest Pirates movie, which is sad. They should never have made another one, but since they decided to do it it is a shame they couldn’t have made it fun.
