Since it’s getting close to Easter, I thought I’d include a shot of 3 washi eggs, done in Japan by my boss’s wife, long ago
To do them, you put pinholes with a straight pin in either end and blow out the contents. Then glue pretty washi paper around the egg…I have no patience for it, but, if you do, you get something that lasts forever!

Gorgeous!
I’ve done something like that in Germany, only with beautiful paper napkins (the pretty top layer, not the 2-3 white under layers).

I haven’t seen some of those for such a long time!! Those are hard critters to do…and yeah…takes a lot of patience…something I don’t do well with either!!!
But…it has given me an idea for the boys.something that will take time and keep them busy on a rainy day .if you feel the urge, let me know and i can get some paper to you!!
(pass that on to Mel…if she wants to do this and can’t find any washi…i’m your go-to-girl for things Japanese!!!)

Wow, they look beautiful. I wish I had the patience for something fiddly like that…
(and the paper).

I’ve blown eggs before, but never seen the paper. I just looked at Amazon and you can order the paper there. I may just do this–they’re gorgeous.
