What better bird to focus on (pun!) this week than a turkey!

Saw this guy strolling across someone’s lawn. What a beauty!

We had a flock (are a group of turkeys a flock?) of about 12 wild turkeys take over our backyard last year. They didn’t come around this year. Which is probably a good thing – they are mean.

Wow!! Just a random wild turkey? The only birds that show up in our yard are robins, sparrows & crows. Although I have seen a red tailed hawk on our neighbors fence.

Turkey vultures? Yes, I’ve seen them.
A live, wild turkey in someone’s yard? Never before!

Hi Janet –thinking of you — long time no chat, catching up on all your posts. Penny Lane got spammed so bad (their super spam sweepers don’t seem to work anymore). I have been moving some of my blog (taking forever no exporting tool).
My children are on a new schedule and I don’t have much free time as I use to.
I hope you are feeling much better now. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! My Poppets will magically cook the turkey with their mystical chants. I told Capt. Jack to collect wood, make a big pile so we could have a bonfire and toast marshmallows and make s’mores. Planning a scavenger hunt with mini-shot rum bottles for him to find too (We will be practicing map reading skills.). He likes fun and frolic. This ought to keep him out of the kitchen on Thanksgiving. Just hope he does not spit on the bonfire after taking a swig. Don’t want to have to call the town Fire Dept and have the neighbors gossiping about the event!
Take care.
