Today’s the day …

And…here we go!
1. Plans and schedules are so not my thing.
2. I’m happy when things are peaceful.
3. The last thing I drank was Golytely (what a sense of humor the person who named that had!!!).
4. One of the most valuable things in my life is my friends and family!!!
5. I like almost anything on my pizza.
6. Dear November, you have my 2nd favorite holiday in you and I hope I’m able to partake this year. Also, some of my favorite people were born in you, so be good to them, ok?
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to waking up from surgery with positive results, tomorrow my plans include possibly a lot of button pushing and hopefully feeling ok and Sunday, I want to feel much, much better!
Surgery is at 3, they estimate it taking 4-6 hours and then 2 hours in recovery. I’m a bit nervous, but I do like to think that everything will be ok. Good thoughts, k?
Michelle will post an update over on her blog when she hears something. See you all soon!
My cousin, Mel, just sent this to me and I wanted to share:
“Sea glass collecting becomes more difficult every day, thanks to the proliferation of plastic containers over glass ones and the increase in recycling. When jagged clear glass pieces are found on the beach, seasoned collectors urge that that they be returned to the water, as those pieces are “not finished” yet.
Often we find ourselves in situations that seem to have no way out, no possibility of redemption. Sometimes life feels so hard that we cannot see the preciousness, at least not in the moment. We feel hopeless, like exiles. But perhaps we are “not finished” yet in terms of out ability to learn from or see the light in our experiences. As people of hope, we can look for the light and value in every experience.
Those jagged pieces of glass must go back into the the deep, vast ocean of God. There the sharp edges become smooth. There, those pieces, once dangerous, become precious to us.”

I’ve been sending good juju your way all morning and will continue to do so.
Golytely cracks me up, but my favorite drug name is “Ansaid.” Another Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug.

Well I went and checked to make sure the surgery went okay and I am glad it did. I hope your roommate didn’t keep you up all night.
Are you home yet? Hope things are going well. Thinking of you.
