The first book I choose for the R.I.P. IV challenge was The Magicians by Lev Grossman; I absolutely did not like it. This blurb was what made me pick it up – “The Magicians is to Harry Potter as a shot of Irish Whiskey is to a glass of weak tea. Well, I never did care for whiskey, so… And thankfully, this other blurb is quite true: “Hogwarts was never like this.” Whiny, superior teens…gah! I gave it away to a lady in the radiation waiting room at MGH. And that’s my review
I’m reading stories in By Blood We Live, which Alice is helping me with and Alice and I started “The Sisters” today. My fourth book could be Lisey’s Story by Stephen King…or possibly Dexter In The Dark…or maybe Vampire Stories from New England, a gift from my lovely friend Monique. I’ll let you know!
