Manic Monday by Lisa
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn’t make it on time
Just another Manic Monday…
What do you do to make yourself feel better when you are sick? Be good to myself, take medication if necessary, stay away from people and things that aren’t good for me.
What is the most amazing weather you’ve ever seen? Hmmm…I’m not sure! I’ve never seen a hurricane or tornado, but I have seen many blizzards, altho really they’re not as dramatic. I think it would have to be a thunder and lightning storm…perhaps the one I saw while on a cruise.
Do you listen to music or talk radio in the car? Music, definitely, sometimes NPR. Never, ever do I listen to abrasive, contentious, stressful talk radio…

Talk radio stinks….it’s annoying! Radio is meant for music, good music!!!

I have been through four or five hurricanes here in Connecticut. Most of them were not that bad, but the hurricane of ‘55 caused a lot of destruction.

Yes, talk radio is not for me either. I do enjoy NPR and listen to it quite often. During the NFL season I also like to listen to sports radio on Mondays so that I can listen to the recap of games. Other than that it is music or audiobooks. People like David Sedaris are especially enjoyable to listen to while driving.

I agree about the radio – that stuff gets me all in a huffy!!

I’m with you–no talk radio ever. It is no wonder the people that listen to it are so angry.

I listen to music – either the radio on an oldies station – or cds. Hate talk radio…

I’ve seen a few tornadoes living in the Midwest. I guess I hate cold more so that is why I went with a blizzard.
I think your answer to #1 is good life advice for every day, not just when we’re sick.

I agree with you about music in the morning- one of the local radio stations down here does a “shut up & rock” morning every day- when I’m not listening to a book on tape I’m there every day.

Talk radio? Hmmm…I have to admit that I do love those CarTalk guys…they crack me up!!
As one who loves a good storm….i do love me some thunger and lightening….typhoons tend to pretty much excite me! In ‘91 (the BIG ONE here in Nagasaki), having just moved here, I was totally in awe of what that kind of storm can do…and watched most of it from the window in my 4th floor apartment…until a HUGE garbage can flew by, then I knew it was time to close the curtain!!

Although more of a music girl myself, good talk radio is a great change of pace…none of that Rush limbaugh swill though. CBC radio has a great talk station i used to love…mind expanding.

I went through one hurricane in FL and after that told Hubby that we were moving back home to New England!

I know what you mean about loud, *abrasive*(perfect word choice there) talk radio. his is a little off-topic(radio at home instead of in the car), but…when I first got my dog and we had to start leaving her alone in the house for a time, I was told that it was a good idea to leave the radio on as “background” voices to help calm puppies. So I would turn on the AM radio, thinking it was just news and “blah blah blah” all day. Imagine my horror one day when I arrived home early and discovered I had been subjecting my poor puppy to Rush Limbaugh! It was NPR for her(and me)from then on…

Ever see The Prisoner of Second Avenue? There’s a great scene where Jack Lemmon begins talking about how only the people who listen to talk radio during the day know what’s really going on. Talk about your conspiracy theories.
Love your pics!
