13 October Quotes
1. “I have been younger in October / than in all the months of spring”

We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves!”

seeking the successive autumns.”

A fantabulous night to make romance
‘Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow”
- Van Morrison
10. “In the great silence of my favorite month,

A clear-yellow leaf here and there on birches),
I celebrated the standstill of time.”

Oh, you are genius. GENIUS. Every single quote is so lovely & perfect; makes me wish once again that I had fought to have our wedding in October. Sigh.
And that e.e. cummings poem – one of my faves to share with students.
GENIUS, I say. Happy Thursday

Genius idea–you need to do a calendar with your poppets–that’s a phenomenal October shot.
October 2nd, 2008 at 12:24 am
So fun, so cute, your picture! I think it might be my favorite of the poppets – maybe, there’ve been a lot of good ones, but this one comes with a donut, so… bonus! Also just love the quotes. So perfect. ee cummings is amazing and a favorite of mine.

Nice quotes, but I think people are pretending to love fall because it means summer is over and winter is on the way, and they are trying to be brave!
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:41 am
I love #10 the best! Happy Thursday Thirteen!
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:44 am
You’re right–you did save the best for last. It’s a nice variety, though, and all together they really make me feel like fall. Of course, raking up all the leaves in the front yard did that, too. They smell so good, but it’s so much work!

October 2nd, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Here’s another October quote for you: ‘Can’t believe I’m already freezing my ass off!’- Fleur de Lisa.
OK, so I’m not the Poet Laureate. LOL
That shot is so great that it almost makes me like the fall some more. That donut looks delicious.
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Wonderfully poetic Thursday Thirteen. I am bookmarking this post as I’ll be back to steal…er, borrow…some of these wonderful quotes. And I’ll happily have Van Morrison bopping around in my head all night competing with the voice of Diane Lane saying, “Czeslaw Milosz, I like him”. Not at all a bad thing…rrrowr!!!
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Great quotes! Someone might think Fall & Halloween is your favorite season and holiday!
October 3rd, 2008 at 2:36 am
