thoughts of a brand new American…
Ok, I know I posted a Craig Ferguson video yesterday, but do yourself a favor: Republican or Democrat, watch this! Don’t get outraged by his monologue at first…listen to it all the way through. This guy just became an American citizen this year and he’s spot on! Give it a listen, tell me what you think.

This flag was hung by the neighbors who lived for 45 years in the house next to the one I grew up in, both passed on now, after 9/11, as you can see by the date on the picture. I didn’t want to let this day go by without a mention…

Thank you for posting that video — Craig Ferguson is the bomb in any case but yes he hit the nail right on the head on this one. Most people are afraid to tell it like it is but he hit every single one of my points!!

I just came in from putting our flag at half-mast for 9/11.
Craig is a riot.
Very nice post.

Can I vote for him?

Excellent video…He got it right!!!!

I liked his line about pigs roaming free in America, and how he’d rather not have lunch with any of the politicians!
It was interesting to note his commentary on Why in the world does one need to market the vote to young people? My mother was not born in this country, and she knew how blessed we are to have the opportunity to vote.

That picture says so much and reminds me of how all the flags came out at this time 7 years ago.

Brilliant. I may steal the link for my blog. He says it so well.

This was very funny, but most importantly very powerful. He asked if we are so lost that we have to be sold our democratic right to VOTE. Voting isn’t sexy, it is a duty. And an informed vote is important. He is spot on. I love that he said, Take your hand out of the bag of Cheetos and vote or spend four years with President Sanjaya. Yes, that was funny. But powerful was saying that Americans are losing their lives and losing their homes, so we need to listen to these candidates, learn about these candidates, and VOTE.
Hell yes.

wow, what a wonderful speaker he makes.

Thanks for posting that video…and yeah, me too…I’m gonna “borrow” it (but will credit you, hon.). When it was over I wanted to stand up and say “yeah!!” He, in an incredibly humorous way, put it out there. I wish everyone could see this. Maybe more people should “borrow” this video…you know…you tell 2 people…and they tell 2 people….
Have a great weekend!!

I love this picture, especially with the date on the photo! Did you know I was on the exact same flight, same time, from Boston to Dullas, as one of the ones heading to DC – only 7 days too early, coming home from my uncles funeral??? I have the stub still, Tuesday, September 4, 2001. Scary to think about!

You’re right. He gets it: If you don’t vote you’re a moron.
He’s also right that your vote should be informed, educated, and a matter of conscience.
