eight words…
From Cafe Writing: Option Two: Pick Three (she gives a eight words, you’re to pick at least three; I used all eight). Usually I do the list option…but I was feeling creative today. The following is entirely fictional.
A dear friend asked me to meet her at our favorite local bar. The rules: She arrives first, gets a seat at the bar (it has to be at the bar) and it must be on a night when the cute bartender is working. That way she gets to flirt and talk with him. That night, however, I was the first to arrive…and I never feel like I belong anywhere when I’m alone. Strange, isn’t it? A grown woman, uncomfortable in a bar full of strangers…I’d love to get over my fear but for now victory eludes me. That evening, though, destiny walked into the bar, in the shape of a darkly handsome man. While I was studying my beer and wishing desperately for my friend to show up, he asked me if the stool next to me was taken and I told him it wasn’t (flirting is not my forte, as you can see). He sat down, rapped the bar with his knuckles and asked the bartender for a glass of scotch, plain. He took a sip, sighed and said: “Ahhhhh, I needed that! A good strong scotch’ll kill what ails ya!” I asked him what ailed him (again, I’m just such an accomplished flirt), but that opened the floodgates and we talked all night, barely pausing for breath or sips of our drinks.

You should really think about doing San Diego Momma’s prompt Tuesdays. It’s so much fun to see what everyone comes up with.
I’m strictly a non-fiction gal myself.

Do the Prompt Tuesdays! Jenn is right! You’d rock them.
Um, I’m just a little behind with them because Laura’s home and not doing a thing except playing with ME and I love it but I’m not doing a darn thing either and can’t even be bothered with punctuation and grammar so it seems.
Anyway, great post!
