favorite places in the home or yard…
My collaboration with Julie; if my kitchen was bigger, that would be my favorite place. But it’s not…so it’s my bedroom, comfy and cool (usually) with a good book and a cup of coffee!
So looking forward to hearing your reviews of The Dark Knight! I hope to go see it in IMAX Thursday night (it’s sold out at the 7PM show til then).
Took Max for a walk yesterday and he … fell over … I hesitate to say collapsed. I had moved him over to the side of the path to make way for some horses going by and possibly the pressure of his slip collar was too much and he kind of fell over. It was really hot, but I was keeping him hydrated. We slowly walked back to the car, and I turned the a/c on full blast. He seems ok this morning; I guess I need to keep in mind he’s not a youngster anymore (turned 11 this year).
I haven’t been feeling so good either, but I’m sure it’s nothing and I have an appointment Monday morning with the doctor just to make sure!
At the local mall, there is an exhibition of the Wii Fit; there were about 12 Fit stations, with “trainers” all dressed in white and people could get on and give ‘em a try. Of course, you can’t FIND any Wii Fits to purchase, so what’s the point?
Took Dad out for breakfast yesterday, where he had a peanut butter and chocolate waffle topped with bananas; the cook called it The Elvis Waffle LOL! He also told us about another waffle he’s experimenting with; bacon & chocolate…I’m SO there! Salty and sweet is the best
It’s been VERY hot here these last few days…makes me thankful that we have a dirt & stone basement (keeps the house REALLY cool) and a window a/c. The house is small enough that those things, plus a fan to keep the cool air circulated, keep it cool enough.
The plum tomatoes are still not looking so good…the cherries, however, look fantastic! And the beefsteaks? Don’t appear to have grown at all. I think I overcrowded the tomatoes.
Oh, and the morning glories ARE a glory:

How’s your weekend been so far?

Well, okay. Great day yesterday with the party at Aglaia’s, but today I feel sick to my stomach so wonder if it was something I ate yesterday. Today I plan to eat very light. And I plan to read. It’s a book on pioneer women and it’s very interesting.

Great! I kicked off the weekend early with BitchHer2008 and another party. I’m pretty sure I rocked the CSET in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Saw Mamma Mia with friends and then had dinner and Champagne with my friend on her new deck. Today I get to pick up 3 Brazilian water polo players at the airport–I’ll be making beans and rice for dinner; I learned last time that our food is a little hard for them to get used to–although they do love a Jamba Juice!

Oh that morning glory is just glowing!

That nice black coverlet and the black coffee make this work for Project Black too (call me obsessed). Sorry that you and Max aren’t feeling well and hope it is a passing thing for both of you. Love the big black rooster shot down below. Hope it is cooler where you are than it is here. It’s the humidity that gets me.

I hear ya on the weather Janet! Hope you and Max feel better soon…you’re calm and level-headed I would’ve been a basket case when Max fell over!
The waffles sound delish–your dad has good taste, living it up having Elvis waffles!
As always, love your pics!

hope Max is feeling better. It was 96 here today by the time we got to KY. I thought I was back in TX!
Did you try the Wii Fit? I am thinking about getting one. If you are really interested, they had them stacked up at the store in the mall I went to.
That flower is just glowing!

Sorry to hear about your dog. Our dogs are older too. I think if we even suggested a walk in this heat they might pass out.
I hope he, and you, will be OK.

I want to see Dark Night… gotta figure out sometime to do it. IMAX sounds sweeeet though!
Poor Max, I hope he stays cool. It is way to hot out
Hope you get things figured out at the docs.

That morning glory is incredible. It’s been really hot here too, it has to be hot for me to say it’s hot.
I hope both Max and you are OK. What’s going on with you, girlie?
My weekend was quiet and low-key. Just what the doctor ordered.

Oh God. Poor Wolf! What do you think that was? We put water on Roses chest and belly to keep her cool – she doesn’t like it but it does keep her cool. Was his belly red? OOOH… how scary!
I do hope you feel better. I’m glad you are seeing the doc and that your Dad is all right! Any house news?

Really? Are you kidding me? An “Elvis Waffle”?!?! Throw some bacon on it and I am there!!! (Pass on the chocolate, though!). Introduced my boys to “elvis toast” and “elvis pancakes”….mmmmmm….might have time in the morning to make some!!
Love the glorious morning glory!! The colors are so beautiful!!
Have a great week!!

I love morning glories. But they come out after a chunk of the summer has passed. That makes me sad.
