Photo Challenge – Shiny and Era
Weekly Words Challenge #29, hosted by Pickled Beef (love the name of her blog!)

Saw this very shiny chandelier in the Vosges store in NYC. After taking a few pictures, I was politely informed that no pictures were allowed in the store. As I was in the middle of composing a picture when told, I said: “Huh?”, thus allowing myself the time to take another. Brilliant!

I’m doing a project on Flickr, One Object 365 Days Project; this shot incorporates an album from another era, an amazing time!

Oooh, that chandelier pic is GORGEOUS!
My new camera arrives Monday! I can’t wait!! (Oh, and my parents arrive with it, so I may not be posting too many new pics (or for that matter anything) right away.)

I hadn’t thought about Abbey Road in quite awhile — remember the brouhaha about Paul being dead and all of the “signs” that were evident in the picture? My age is showing……

I love how the chandelier looks like it’s swinging
Very cool!

I always loved that album cover.
And that bauble in NY, very pretty!

Ooh that chandelier shot is brilliant!
For some reason, their saying that photos aren’t allowed in the store seems so rude. It’s a public place, so really, they’re wrong. Even if they don’t like it. LOL

Playing dumb; a time-honored and brilliant strategy.
Great shot.

The fact that the shot was stolen makes it that much better.

Hi, I love this picture it is an era and a gret era it was!!!
I am giving away NORWEGIAN WOODS by Haruki Murakami, of course the title is names after the song and it is one of the most beloved book by Murakami, it is yours if you haven’t read it.
I am waiting for a new camera from amazon.com to arrive this week

Love the chandelier! I wonder why you couldn’t take pics in the store?? I frequently do, just to get ideas of what to do in my own home.

the guy at cici’s pizza “politely” told me not to take any pictures of the pizza. i was all like “why?” and he says people might try to steal their ideas or something… put it up on utube or something. i didn’t understand.
Your shots are so clean and crisp – I love that!

They don’t allow photos? Whut? Random.
Like me, when I take photos in Vegas (of the casinos) I have to do it stealth-like.

Beautiful picture, Janet. You’ve got a great site – keep up the superb work!

Really? No pictures? I hate when that happens. being a “photophile” I am forever taking pictures. As a matter of fact, on Michele’s “just curious” question, I answered (after your concert/party comment) that I was excited about my photography class starting next week! And since I’ve mentioned Michele, you KNOW she sent me!

Love that chandelier pic. Too funny how you got away with taking another shot
I’ve seen that Abbey Road pic somewhere before…. now where was that?

Oooh, shiny. I seem to be getting tossed out of more and more places for taking photos.
Love Abbey Road. Love it.

Is that the ridiculously overpriced chocolates store? If so, I read an article about her in my alumni magazine (she graduated several years after I got my MA so I didn’t know her). The idea of charging someone $4 for one piece of chocolate just because it’s got some fancy spices added is pretentious. (Of course, if people pay for them. . . ) And so is not allowing photos of the CHANDELIER! Good grief, unless she’s got recipes posted up there, what’s the harm?
