I’m back!
Had a GREAT time in NYC with Megan and Heather! The hotel was very nice (Megan got a great deal on priceline)! We had dinner at Nobu Friday night, which is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go! Fantastic food! Afterwards we cabbed it over to a dessert place called Chickalicious, which was to die for. We ended up at the Hard Rock Cafe and did oh so many Patron Silver tequila shots.

Thank GOD it was within walking distance of the hotel. We weaved, tripped, laughed and fell our way back, safely, I might add!
Saturday we took our time recuperating and finally went out for breakfast, to Lindy’s Deli, a WILDLY overpriced place, but the chicken soup was good, which was about all I could stomach.

We went to a shiba meetup, courtesy of Jenn:

It’s AMAZING to see so many of these crazy dogs in one spot! Thanks, Jenn, it was nice to meet you and Snick ![]()

Afterwards, we went on a chocolate hunt, finding Vosges and another place.

We walked to Magnolia’s, known for their cupcakes, but the line was ridiculously long, so we kept on going. I was seriously flagging by this time, so we grabbed a cab and went back to the hotel for a rest and some room service. That night we had 930 reservations at The Artisanal Bistro, a lovely cheese filled delight! Heather’s friend Missa joined us and we were running late (got a bit lost giving the cabbie wrong directions…he was NOT amused, but finally got there, only to be kept waiting for a good bit. They gave us a bottle of champagne as an apology, it’s all good.
Sunday we slept in too; Heather left us to go home and Megan and I headed out to grab some breakfast, check out 5th Avenue and then on to Central Park to see Strawberry Fields, John Lennon’s memorial. There was some easter parade or something going on on 5th, and there was a HUGE line for St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It was fun seeing all the funky Easter hats; some were amazingly elaborate! We found a wonderful French bistro for brunch, La Goulue Restaurant and oooh was it delicious!
Thus fortified, we headed to the memorial. I thought it would be overwhelming, or at the very least upsetting, but it wasn’t. It was peaceful and quiet; altho I garnered a tsk tsk as I took a Skelly picture for my “One Object 365 Days” flickr project.

We headed back to the hotel to collect our luggage and my car and headed home, stopping quickly at Ikea, where I was pretty good and Megan not so. Then we hit horrendous traffic and … ugh! We got through it playing the “Which one would you sleep with game”; she asked me PeeWee Herman or Michael Jackson! C’mon now!
How was your weekend?

I am so glad you got away and that you all had a great time.
I am down with a sore throat and protecting Greta’s purity until Bernie comes to call next week.
