Round Robin Challenge: Transportation
The challenge this week is Transportation. What a great theme! I had quite a few pictures to choose from and could not make up my mind, so I thought I’d share a few different modes of transportation!
Ship(s)
A cruise ship is such a fun form of transportation! I took this shot from the cruise ship I was on, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at the end of our cruise.
Fishing boat and bridge
I took this shot from an airplane window, it’s a fishing boat going under the Cheasepeake Bay Bridge that spans Maryland and Virginia (it’s a loooooong bridge and tunnel!)
Airplane
This shot was taken at Castle Island in Boston, MA. Logan Airport is across the water, and you can see many planes landing and taking off from there. Wolf hates this place just for that reason; I think seeing such big things overhead bothers him!
Train
There’s something so interesting about watching a train go by; I love to hear the plaintive whistle waaaaay off in the distance. This one, of course, is little and mainly decorative. I took this shot in Meredith, NH.
Horse and rider
A very old style of transportation, that is now mostly done for pleasure! Took this one at Salisbury Beach, MA.
The automobile. It makes life much more convenient, but also pollutes our atmosphere something wicked. When I was searching for photos I’d taken of cars, I noticed these two were the same type of car!
unkempt (Marblehead, MA)
well kept! (Union College, Schenectady, NY)

The second and third shots here are just stunning. And I can’t get over the amazing tiered look of the newest large cruise ships. So far I’ve only seen them in brochures and posters – and now, your photo.

Great entry! I love your pictures. I hadn’t thought of the fishing boat — I love shots of them from the Oregon coast!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Remind me that you were right here, in Ft. Lauderdale, and didn’t even bother to tell me!
Funny, I just read something in a book about the Chesapeake Bay Bridge…

Suzanne: I was looking at that photo and thinking…ok, I took it from a moving plane, and there’s a moving boat AND a bridge…surely that counts as a “transportation” picture LOL!
Megan: Next time, I SWEAR! And I really want to get a tattoo at Miami Ink!

1. I love going on cruises and the colors in that shot are awsome.
2. It could be a fishing boat going toward the bridge or it could be a jellyfish – in anycase that color blue is to get lost in.
3. For soem reason the treatment of that airplane shot makes it a little too eerie for me!
5. The horse and rider. How I love the simpler times!

boliyou: Thank you! As you can tell, I photoshopped it and liked the strange result!
Michelle: Funny, I always think to myself that it’s a jellyfish, too
Deslily: That happens! Once you get on the ship, it doesn’t feel like it’s moving, really, but it is and once you get back on land, your body knows the difference!
