Today I’m thankful for what most Americans are thankful for…the veterans who give their all for this country. That includes my Dad, who was on a LST in WWII and lived to tell of it…and the black dog they had on their ship that they taught to surf. Miss you, Dad, love you!

Here he is with his Mother on a visit to the family home in Green Harbor. I’m sure his love of the ocean is what inspired him to join the Coast Guard!

Also, I’m thankful for the fact that although I work today, most folks had the day off for the Veteran’s Day holiday, so the commute this morning was a breeze! And I’m thankful Dave didn’t have to work today, but got up anyway and walked the dogs and got me a coffee.
