Thankful, Day 6
I am SO thankful for friends! Last night Dave and I had a wonderful time at Karen & Mark’s lovely home:. She made an amazing dinner of pork roast, roasted string beans and potatoes in a variety of colors (so pretty!), an incredible salad, Tuscan bread and we enjoyed that with lots and lots of conversation. Oh, and dessert was a pumpkin trifle…yum!
Karen and I have known each other for many years, 37 to be exact. We met when my boyfriend, Cal, and i moved into an apartment next door to her home. She quickly became a constant in my life even though she was 3 years younger than me (at 14 and 17, that’s a big difference).
The thing is we’ve fallen in and out of contact but were always able to pick up again. The last few years, we’ve made more of an effort. She’s fun and lively and I’m glad she’s part of my life!
Yesterday, I got to have lunch with my friend Michelle. I met her via my blog quite a few years ago and it’s one of the best things about blogging, that it brought her into my life. She’s one of those people that make you feel good about yourself, and I always enjoy her company.
These are two of quite a few I’m lucky to have in my life. The reason I’ve chosen to write about them is that I saw them both yesterday, so I don’t want anyone to feel overlooked or left out.
Enjoy your Sunday!
