Today I’m thankful for yard sales! A strange thing to be thankful for, maybe, but I stopped at one awhile back and found this old S.S. Pierce cheese crock. Seeing it immediately brought back memories of my grandmother, who often used SS Pierce products, as did my parents.

Do you have any memories of specialty foods bought by your parents or grandparents?

On a related note, an old Boston store, Filene’s Basement, is going out of business. I still have my credit card from Filene’s (and from Jordan Marsh as well) and I’ll be sad to see this link to my grandmother and nana go.
