Just another Manic Monday…
Are you usually late, early or right on time? Ironic you should ask that one, since I’m going to be late to the doc appointment today…
What would be harder for you, to tell someone you love them or to tell them that you do not love them back? I don’t think I’d ever tell someone I don’t love them back…
Which would you rather have: a high salary or job satisfaction? Job satisfaction, for sure.

he loves me…he loves me not…

It’s R.I.P. IV time (that’s R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril)!!! Oh, I love when Carl does this post, because it means fall is not far away
I went off to Barnes & Noble today for the express purpose of finding a book or two to read for Carl’s challenge and I found three:
The Magicians, by Lev Grossman: This blurb alone made me pick it up – “The Magicians is to Harry Potter as a shot of Irish Whiskey is to a glass of weak tea. Solidly rooted in the traditions of both fantasy and mainstream literary fiction, the novel tips its hat to Oz and Narnia as well as to Harry, but don’t mistake this for a children’s book. Grossman’s sensibilities are thoroughly adult, his narrative dark and dangerous and full of twists. Hogwarts was never like this.” – George R. R. Martin
I’m already on page 25 and hope to get a few more under my belt tonight.
By Blood We Live: A compilation of vampire stories by Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Joe Hill & Anne Rice as well as a host of others.
The Sister, by Poppy Adams: This one got some great reviews by, among others, the New York Times – “The Sister is powered by the same sort of confidently rendered literary suspense that propelled Donna Tartt’s The Secret History onto bestseller lists.”; The Washington Post Book World – “Masterly…At once beautiful, informative, and disturbing…stylish prose, taut plotting and dark psychology”; and the Detroit News – Deliciously creepy…Reminds us of A. S. Byatt, Kate Atkinson and Stephen King having a house party.”
A fourth as yet unknown book will be added to my list, so that I can do Peril The First. Wish me luck!
And I’m off to read!

1. He was a a very good man, my Dad.
2. The smell in the air is what I look forward to most this time of year.
3. My best friend is my camera, or maybe my shiba…hmmm...
4. I don’t like to play favorites to be honest with you.
5. Appearances can be only the tip of the iceberg.
6. The last person I gave a hug to was the radiology tech.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to hanging out with Eileen, tomorrow my plans include possibly seeing my cousin and Sunday, I want to hang with Karen and see JMB!

another thing to love about this time of year…pumpkin ice cream!

Here’s last Wednesday’s picture:

and this is what it was cropped from:

stones from Iceland; my friend Karen gave them to me, she got them from her friend in Iceland
Here’s the first three who got it right:
- Gary: “IT IS A LITTLE ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
- Robin: “Looks like a rock to me.”
- Jenn: “I’m going with rock, but holding out hope for tooth.”
Amber had the best answer: “It looks like a polished piece of quartz to me. Or it could be a really old & worn looking tooth of a Hippogriff that you found on the beach whilst strolling with Wolf.” and Cheri had the second best: “Iced blueberry scone that Lafayette baked for us to share.”
So…

What is it?
