Here’s last Wednesday’s picture:

And this is what it was cropped from:

horse chestnut – not edible for humans, unfortunately!
These were the first three to get it right:
- Julie: “Chestnut with its skin/shell still on.” (that’s two weeks in a row, and to think she used to complain she never got these!)
- Sally from Oz (Books and Musings): “Is it a chestnut inside it’s pod? From a horse chestnut tree?”
- Gary: “it is a CHESTNUT WITH SPIKY SHELL AND LITTLE CHESTNUT inside”
The one that cracked me up was from the not-me Janet: “…although there is a part of me that really wants to think it’s sharks swimming in tree bark.”
This week’s picture is courtesy of Lea. So…

What is it?
If you don’t see your comments, don’t worry…I’m most likely moderating them…or not! I like to keep you on your toes!

Saw this article today and I swear it made me tear up: “That’s how Heath would want it“. I was on the subway yesterday and overheard someone say “Heath”, so I started listening instead of zoning out, as I usually do on the subway, and sure enough they started talking about The Dark Knight and how great Heath Ledger was in it. Damn it that I have a weekly meeting on Tuesdays, which is the cheap night at the local theaters. Hmm…maybe I can sneak out a bit early this week? Or what the hell, I’ll just catch the 9 PM show.
Then my boss sent me an email: “Please come see me…”
I replied: “Omg I’m fired!!!”
She said: “No – you just got promoted to my job……hehehe”
I replied: “Even worse!”
to which she said: “Just get over here!!!!!!!!”
My kind of boss; one I can joke with, go out with a drink with, be there for and know she’ll be there for me. What did she want to see me about? It’s bonus time…and let’s just say I got the bonus of my dreams, and that she is very, VERY happy with me…and I with her! And that made me tear up, too. Good damn thing I didn’t wear mascara today!
I was interrupted in the writing of this by Dad calling to say he’d fallen and needed help. He’s ok…he just couldn’t get up and I couldn’t lift him; thankfully, the firefighter next door was home and he got Dad up. Nothing broken, nothing cut, so I stayed home, fed him dinner and am keeping an eye on him. Now if he would just listen to me about NOT trying to take the dogs out! They are fine with going out around 8 am and then again around 6 pm. Dad said Wolf was acting like he wanted to go out, be he’s just freaking out at the pestilence of flies we’re currently experiencing. End of the world, anyone? Amityville Horror?
Also, last week I saw a
finally…a PostSecret I can relate to! Not that I’m such a smart woman, but I can relate to wanting to put a spell on someone…maybe not the Avada Kedavra, but a silencing spell, maybe?

Carmi hosts Thematic Photographic and the theme this week is “angles”.

Shot yesterday at Fenway Park with my camera phone, using a strange angle, because it made the best picture. Despite the impending doom and gloom, the Red Sox/Yankees game was only delayed about an hour. I tell ya, tho…those guys whose job it is to cover the field sure got a workout yesterday! They must’ve covered and uncovered it about eight times!

Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn’t make it on time
Just another Manic Monday…
What is the most useful gift you’ve ever been given? Life, I guess. It’s been damn useful so far!
Name the most terrifying moment of your life so far. Riding on that STUPID rollercoaster with my friend Betsy at Busch Gardens (Not the Big Bad Wolf, I liked that one). I warned her, but she insisted; she sat between Kim and me and went absolutely DEAF from the both of us screaming the whole time. hehehe … memories
One hot summer afternoon, while walking through a parking lot at a large shopping center, you notice a dog suffering badly from the heat inside a locked car. What would you do? Break the damn window and possibly take the dog, but at the very least give it water and make sure it’s ok. If the person who owns the car (and dog) is stupid enough to leave the dog to suffer, he/she deserves a broken window and possibly a stolen dog. I might leave a note…but it’s doubtful. Idiots.
Oh, and here’s the eye candy:

Yeah, he’s a Yankee…whatevs!
