When I got back from Pat’s on Sunday, I was treated, in addition to thunder and lightning, some wild wind! I like to keep my bedroom window open a bit, and I could hear all the really big trees in the back yard; their branches were whipping back and forth. Something so calming about that sound.
I bought a new duvet cover (Wolf dug a hole in the last one, lil bastid) and I washed, dryed and put the comforter inside it. Oh, man, is it soft!!! It’s a brown paisley design, I’ll take a picture of it. Came with two shams, too. Nothing like sinking into bed with a good book.
Speaking of books, I finished Colleen Gleason’s newest one, Bleeding Dusk, this morning. Great book, there were a couple of big surprises; overall, I enjoyed it very much.
I’ve been having fun with my One Object-365 Days project over on flickr. My one object is one of my poppets, of course, the skeleton one LOL! I even took him to Pat’s this weekend, after forgetting him at work last weekend.
As for the weather, we’re expecting snow today at rush hour. I’m bummed out about that, as 1) I was looking forward to dinner with Michelle, and 2) I’m so sick of the snow and cold. I can’t wait til springtime; barring that, I’m taking a trip to Florida in March for a few days and I know that’ll warm me up.
That’s it!
Oh, I did want to thank Knittymuggins, aka Maryanne, so very much for the beautiful fingerless mitts she made and sent me (I badgered her incessantly!!!).

Aren’t they gorgeous?
She’s a talented knitter and a very nice person. She also sent me a cool button, not knowing I collect them, so I put it up in my car with the rest of my beloved buttons:

it’s the one with the knife!

Ok, now that THAT’S out of the way, let’s go on to Lisa’s Manic Monday!
Is there anything to serious to joke about? If so, what falls into that category for you? Of course there is. The death of a child is the first thing that pops to mind.
Would you rather be a tortured genius or a happy simple-minded person? Why? HAHAHAH well, seeing as how I AM a happy simple-minded person, I’ll stick with what I know
A dear friend or family member has a terminal illness and is in agony. He/she wants you to help him/her die. What would you do? I’d help him/her in any way I could. Why should he/she suffer one minute more if 1. it’s terminal and 2. it’s time.

Before I get into this, I gotta say…I’m glad to see January go! This crud I’ve had for a week and two days has really put a damper on things. I can barely breathe, which makes any form of hard exercise not such a good idea. Poor Wolf is quite disappointed and looks sadly outside, wondering when he’ll get to go on a walk. Soon, Wolf, soon! The doctor FINALLY called in a prescription for antibiotics today and some Mucinex. I didn’t want to buy it, because I cannot STAND the stupid ads for this medicine, but I caved and it does work! Now, if only my sense of smell would come back!!!
My two flickr projects, “One Object – 365 Days” (366 this year, hehehe) and “Project365″ wherein I design and take a picture each day is going well. Today begins the second month of Project365 and the second week of One Object. I’d like to share with you one favorite picture from each.
From One Object:

I like this one cause…well, it’s the Beatles. LOL! Why else!
From Project365:

Capt. Jack, of course, with his speared lobstah (or lung, as some folks pointed out it looks like). I want you to know this statue is in my office and the lobstah is still on his sword…looking mighty shrunken, but still hanging in there. Man…if my boss ever came in my office and really took a good look around…LOL!
Without further ado, here we go!
You can find the Friday Fill-Ins here!
1. Once I was full of doubt, but it’s all leaked out.
2. I’m sick of being sick.
3. Today at work I am hoping to finish up some things I’ve been ignoring lately.
4. What’s Lost all about?
5. If I make a mistake I usually own up to it and try to fix it.
6. When I woke up this morning, I thought omg I can BREATHE.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to feeling better, tomorrow my plans include doing some shopping for the stuff I’ll be cooking for the superbowl get together at my brother’s house and Sunday, I want to walk Wolf and Max, read and catch up on reading blogs while Dad & Larry are watching the game!

I’m feeling better, FINALLY! Just in time for work on Monday
Julie convinced me to join a group on Flickr where you photograph one thing for a whole year. Yeah. This is in addition to the other group where I post a picture a day for a year. Heck…I figure I love photography so much, this’ll be easy for me. For the “one thing” group, I decided to use one of my poppets, Skelly.

Isn’t he so cute! It snowed here today, so I set him on the roof outside my window and shot away.
