Just another Manic Monday!
What are the values you cherish even though they may run counter to societal values? Calmness, loyalty, kindness and the ability to think positively and have fun!
Mondays make me sigh and remember the fun I had over the weekend…and wish it was closer to Friday. But not this past Monday! This past Monday I woke up and hugged my guy, [edited for content], got a great cup of coffee, headed to the beach, swam & read & sunned, so this past Monday made me smile and feel joyful!
If you were to publish a book about yourself, what would you title it? “I Can’t Believe My Life Turned Out This Way!”
I have some great pictures from this weekend, but alas, they’re on my laptop at home! Soon

Just another Manic Monday!
Fill in the blank: If I had a nickel for every time I… took a walk with the dogs, I’d be a wealthy woman!
What do you think about while you exercise? How good it feels to be able to move my body in the ways I need to…most people take that as a given, but I remember after chemo and radiation that I couldn’t even cross my legs.
What are 5 things you love about your spouse/partner/significant other (or children or pet)?
1. He’s so kind and caring and interested (and interesting!)
2. He loves doing things spur of the moment just like I do.
3. He’s artistic and musical and a great mimic!
4. He gives the BEST massages and doesn’t complain when I ask…even just offers sometimes!
5. I’ll state the obvious here, even though it might cause some to go EWWWW GROSS! He’s an amazing lover…and that’s all I’ll say about that
Oh, and that was about Dave and not Wolf or Max
Friday was fun…we went to see Jaws on the big screen and then to a Redbones (a bbq place) for dinner…YUM! When we got out of the movie, there was a line around the block of folks waiting to get in to see the next show. It was pretty cool to see Jaws again this way!
Saturday: Finally got my hair colored as well as getting my car cleaned! Later on, Dave, Michelle & I went to Portsmouth NH…lots of traffic, but it was so nice there walking around. We all had our palms read (yes, again) and that was pretty interesting. In the evening, Dave & I went to see the James Montgomery Band at an outdoor concert in Lowell; James was great as always. I had three extra tickets and we sold them for $10 each…I paid $18 and they cost $25 the day of the concert, so someone got a great deal
Sunday: Dave left at 3:30 (am!!!) to go fishing with his son…they caught 19 trout (only kept 10, tho)! We were going to have a couple for dinner but Dave was so tired (not only was he up at 3:30 Sunday morning, but at 4:30 Saturday morning, cause he worked some overtime), so he asked if I minded if he stayed home. I love that he asks
While he was off fishing, I took myself out to breakfast, visited my parents’ gravestone, went to one farm stand for tomatoes & corn, and another for strawberries (and goat pictures!). Came home, made stuffed summer squash, did some cleaning and some reading. Nice quiet day…haven’t had one of those in a while!
This Facebook message from Dave to his son really made me smile:

Just another Manic Monday!
What are 5 things you want to do in your life? Well, at my advanced age, I’ve done many of the things I wanted…and those that I didn’t do (have kids springs to mind), well, let’s just say the time for that is long past LOL! But…here goes:
1. Go back to Paris
2. Go back to Japan
3. Travel across the US
4. Kiss Johnny Depp (chastely, of course, just on the cheek)
5. Clean out my closets!
What are you saying goodbye to? Negativity and drama.
What are you currently fascinated with? hehehe, can’t say here. But it’s not THAT, so get your minds out of the gutter.
Man, what a weekend! Went to a Greek festival at a local church Friday and had pastichio, stuffed grape leaves, spanakopita and baklava…sooooo good!
Saturday, we tossed a coin to either go to a local flea market or take a drive up the coast. The drive won and we headed to Maine…it was a gorgeous day! We stopped at Nubble Light to take some pictures and I realized my battery was almost out. We sat on the rocks in the sun for a bit and watched the divers. We also walked around York a bit and had our palms read. That was wicked interesting! I wanted to walk the cliffs at Ogunquit, but I was really hungry by then and we went to Kennebunkport and enjoyed a seafood platter. We were tempted to spend the night up in Maine, but I couldn’t find anyone to feed and walk the dogs. Oh well!
Sunday, I went with Dave to his grandson’s baptism. Met his daughter and her family…also Dave’s ex and her husband, her parents, & her sister. We had a great time, and I took some nice shots of his grandson being dunked in the lake where they had the baptism. What a great kid! Had dinner at the Common Man afterward … nice end to a fun weekend.

Just another Manic Monday!
Right now, what’s on your mind? I’m still smiling about what Dave wrote on Facebook and the comments it generated. I’ll share with you what he said:
Feeling Grateful for all the good things that I have been blessed with this year…like a great woman who treats me like gold–thank you Janet!! Like my kids who all seem to be doing well. like the love they all show me. amongst many of blessings. thank you god…
and his daughter’s reply:
We are all grateful for you Dad! You are a loving, caring, unselfish person who is always there for his children and grandchildren! We all love you and appreciate you very much, you have brought us kids up to be Adults and even though we …all have made our mistakes you were always there to lead us in the right directions, pick us up when we fell and sent us off knowing and having a better understanding to life no matter how bad it got! You taught us that there are always things going on in life and people who are going through a hell of a lot worse and where do our feet stand! You are a blessing to us all and we all can never Thank you enough for all you have done! You mean the world to each and everyone of us and We Love You Dearly! Xo
I’m very much looking forward to meeting his daughter and her two boys this Sunday
List 10 things you expect from a good friend. I don’t really “expect” anything from anyone…but here are 10 qualities I’d enjoy in friends.
1. Acceptance
2. Love
3. A shoulder to lean on, should I need one
4. An ear to listen, should I want to unburden myself
5. Feeling comfortable in silence
6. Honesty
7. Loyalty
8. Able to enjoy doing things spur of the moment
9. A sense of humor
10. Problem solving
What’s something you’ve done that you wish you hadn’t? Just one thing? LOL! Hmmm…I’ll keep it light-ish, here. I wish I hadn’t lost my Grandmother’s diamond ring…not for any monetary value, but for sentimental reasons. I also lost my Nana’s ring…but I know what happened to that! I was peeling an orange onto a paper towel and took the ring off so it wouldn’t get all sticky…then I accidentally threw the peels, paper towel and ring away. At least I know it’s somewhere in Japan!

Had a great weekend filled with music and love and laughter. How was your weekend?

Just another Manic Monday!
What are your 10 greatest joys in life?
1. Dave
2. my friends
3. photography
4. my dogs
5. swimming in the ocean
6. camping!
7. memories
8. sharing a meal
9. hiking
10. feeling loved
I’ll never do _______ again and here’s why: hahaha my original answer isn’t something I want to say publicly on my blog, so here’s my second answer: “a drama filled relationship” because I don’t care in the least for drama. Dave is very good at gently pointing out things to me and I’m thankful for that. Like last night…I asked if I’d see him Monday night and I replied…pffffft and waved my hand. He caught my hand and said…”why is that your answer?” It made me think…and made me realize I was being like a kid who didn’t get her way. I love his gentle corrections.
What’s the coolest piece of technology you work or play with? That’d have to be my camera(s); they allow me to interpret the way I see things and to share that vision. I also really like my Nook
Here’s my favorite shot of the weekend (Dave and I went camping in the White Mountains):
