Japanese goodies!!!
The amazing and spectacular Debbie, who is fond of flamingos and lives in Japan, sent me a wonderful box of Japanese goodies! Unfortunately, it arrived on the Friday before Megan’s wedding, so I couldn’t pick it up until Monday, since I had to go to the post office to retrieve it. I was this close || to not going to the wedding and picking up the box instead (kidding, Megan!!!), but I knew I’d die a most horrible death, so I did not do that. Besides, I really wanted to go to the wedding!
As most of you know I lived in Japan for three years in the early 1990s with my ex-husband, who was a firefighter in the USAF. I LOVED it there and miss so many things about Japan. In fact, the only thing I DON’T miss is the traffic! One day, I’ll go back to visit.
Here are a few of the things that were inside:
1. rice crackers, called senbei, 2. Japanese rice (the bowl is mine), 3. a really cute face cloth, 4. nori (seaweed) wrapped senbei, 5. a blue and white goddess that Debbie made just for me, and it’s so beautiful!, 6. dried umeboshi to sprinkle on rice (or popcorn!), 7. a flamingo on a straw, 8. a daikon (radish) dish scrubber (which will never be used for that purpose lol), 9. The Joker!!!, 10. a dog toy with a picture of a shiba inu on the label!, 11. bath bubblies, 12. shrimp crackers, 13. a mask!
She also included some umeboshi paste, a Hello Kitty mask (perfect timing, now I don’t have to worry about contracting swine flu [um...like I ever did LOL!], some Hello Kitty snacks, a batman figurine [similar to The Joker one], moshi squares and a cute lil charm for my cell phone.
Since The Goddess was handmade (by Debbie!!!), I thought she deserved her own photo:
And of course, Wolf wanted to pose with his new toy:
Debbie…thank you SO very much for sending me these things…I appreciate it more than you will ever know! And soon, my precious, you’ll be getting a box of your own…what size were those Victoria Secret undies you wanted?
Happy Mother’s Day to all you Moms out there…hope you’re enjoying the day!
